As a first-generation college student, Chrissy didn’t feel like she had anyone to turn to when it came time to make decisions about her future. But then along came Dora.

During Chrissy’s senior year of high school, Dora became her mentor and the two of them visited several college campuses and businesses, and talked at length about Chrissy’s dreams for her future.

Chrissy is now a proud graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston, as well as an educator and mentor – dedicated to providing the same support she received from Dora to the young people in her community. We sat down with Chrissy to learn more about her connection to the mentoring movement.

Change multiplies each time someone is inspired by greater possibilities. When you become a mentor, there is no limit to the positive impact you can have on your mentee, and on generations to come. As National Mentoring Month comes to an end, we invite you to explore mentoring opportunities in your area and consider how you can make a meaningful difference in your community!
